# Celerity: Keyboard-Driven New Tab Extension for Chrome

> Celerity replaces your Chrome new tab page with a keyboard-first command launcher. Launch sites and search the web instantly — no mouse required.

Celerity transforms every new tab into a lightning-fast command launcher. Press any key, type a short shortcut, hit Enter, and you land exactly where you want to go — whether that's opening Gmail, searching YouTube, or running a web search. No mouse, no friction, no distractions.

## How It Works

When you open a new tab, Celerity shows a grid of your shortcuts. Press any key to open the search bar, type a command, and press Enter.

**1. Install the extension**

Add Celerity from the Chrome Web Store or load it manually. It immediately takes over your new tab page.

**2. Press any key**

On a new tab, pressing any character key opens the Celerity search bar. Start typing right away.

**3. Type a shortcut and press Enter**

Type `g` and press Enter to open Gmail. Type `y` to go to YouTube. Celerity resolves your input instantly.

**4. Search directly within a site**

Add a space after a shortcut to search within that site: `y javascript tutorial` searches YouTube, `s taylor swift` searches Spotify.

## Built-In Shortcuts

Celerity ships with 12 ready-to-use shortcuts so you can start navigating immediately:

| Key | Destination |
