Celerity is built around the keyboard — every action from opening a site to navigating autocomplete suggestions has a dedicated key or key combination. Use this page as a quick-reference for all shortcuts and navigation keys available across the extension.
Celerity does not intercept keyboard shortcuts when a modal is open or when the cursor is in an input field — your typing always goes where you expect.
Press any character key while on a new tab with no modal open to activate the search bar instantly. Your keystroke lands directly in the input, so you can start typing your query without a separate focus step. Once the search bar is open and suggestions appear, use the keys below to move focus between the text input and the suggestion list. Pressing a navigation key past the first or last suggestion wraps focus back to the input. From the text input: From a focused suggestion:
→ and ← only cycle through suggestions when a suggestion item already has focus. They have no effect on suggestion navigation while the cursor is in the text input.

Quick Actions

These shortcuts work at the page level and do not require the search bar to be open first. Close any modal — settings, help, or feedback — with the keys below. These shortcuts are handled independently by each modal, so they always work regardless of which modal is currently open.

Command Syntax Reference

Celerity resolves your input through a priority chain every time you press Enter. Understanding this order lets you predict exactly where you will land.
A space is the delimiter between a shortcut key and a search query. Typing y alone opens YouTube; typing y lofi searches YouTube for “lofi”. Built-in shortcuts including Gmail (g), YouTube (y), and GitHub (gh) all support site search out of the box.
